Why should we offer apprenticeships over other forms of training?

The following are answers from the Apprenticeships evaluation 2017: employers where employers, whose staff recently completed an apprenticeship, were presented with a list of common reasons for offering apprenticeships and asked which one best described their reason for choosing this form of training or recruitment over others.

  • They are most relevant to the needs of our business (30% of employers)
  • Apprenticeships are the required form of training in this industry (19% of employers)
  • They are the most convenient because the training provider handles most of the recruitment (18% of employers)
  • They are the best way to aid recruitment and retention (17% of employers)
  • They cost us less than the alternatives (11% of employers)
  • Want to help the local community / young people (1% of employers)
