How do we get 100% of the training and assessment costs funded?

Non-levy employers can get the total cost of the training and assessment for your apprentice funded; if you are a smaller employer (fewer than 50 employees) recruiting a younger apprentice or if a levy-paying employer agrees to fund your apprenticeship via a funds transfer.

100% government Funding for smaller employers for younger apprentices

If you are a small employer with fewer than 50 employees, the government will pay 100% of the cost of training and assessment costs (up to the funding band maximum) for apprentices who are aged between:

  • 16-18 years old
  • 19-24 years old and who has previously been in care or who has an Education, Health and Care plan provided by their local authority

Funds Transfer from a Levy-Paying Employer

If a levy-paying employer does not use all their apprenticeships funds, they are permitted to transfer up to 25% of their fund to another employer.  The transfer will cover the total cost of the apprenticeship training, up to the funding band maximum.  Read more about Levy Transfer Funding.
